  Book Reviews for Classical Studies

Book reviews are a great way to stay on top of recent publications.  Below is just a selection of links to online book reviews.  You will also find book reviews in many journals such as the American Journal of Philology or the American Journal of Archaeology.

Bryn Mawr Classical Review (BMCR)

  • Publishes timely reviews of current scholarly work in the field of classical studies (including archaeology)
  • An archive of BMCR's publications is available from 1990 to the present
  • Subscription to on-going journal is free
    • Subscribe here to receive book reviews via email
    • RSS feed also available

The Classical Review

  • Publishes informative reviews from leading scholars on new work covering the literatures and civilizations of ancient Greece and Rome
  • Full-text available online via CONSORT
    • RSS feed also available via Cambridge Journals Online, see right hand column (you will need to set up a username and password, but it's free!)
