To quickly look inside a collection in CONTENTdm, click on the Browse All button found in the upper left corner.
A new page with thumbnails and short descriptions of items will appear and you can search and explore the collection from there.
Once you find some resources from your initial search, you can use the facets on the left hand side of the screen to narrow your results by a menu of terms.
Once you click on a term, a list of results will appear. The number in parenthesis next to the terms indicates the number of resources with that term.
To do a keyword search in our CONTENTdm Collections, enter your search term in the box at the top of the page and click the Search button.
For more options or to search by dates, click on the Advanced Search link.
If you want to focus or narrow your search results, click on the Advanced Search link at the top of the page to the right of the Search button.
The Advanced Search menu will open to give you options to search particular fields, date ranges, and collections.
You can search All Fields with your term, or you can choose a specific field in which to search via the drop-down menu on the right.
You also can also choose to find results with all the words, any of the words, the exact phrase, or none of the words you used as your search terms via the drop-down menu on the left.
You can add more fields and terms by clicking on the link on the left below the original search box. You can decided to search for both terms to be in a resource (and) or one or the other term to be in a resource (or).
You can search for resources by date by clicking on the link below the search box(es).
Dates should be entered in mm/dd/yyyy format, but you can also enter just the year by itself.
You can also choose how to search by the assigned dates by choosing terms from the drop-down menu on the left.
