The links below consist of collections of many reference resources on a wide variety of topics. As a result, you can do a search not just in a single encyclopedia, but all the encyclopedias related to a particular topic, or even all the encyclopedias in the vast collection. And, unlike Wikipedia, you'll know that the article was written by an expert on that topic.
You can search for reference books specific to your topic by doing an advanced search in Consort. Be specific with keywords and limit your search to "DEN Reference" (in the Location box - first one on the left in the shaded area) - to find books in the reference area (1st floor, Learning Commons).
These resources (mostly books, whether hard-copy or electronic) provide background information on a people, terms and concepts. (Each of these titles is either available online or located in the Denison Library Reference section on the first floor of the library.)
