Martin Luther King Celebration | Monday, January 28, 2019: HOME
“I have the audacity to believe that peoples everywhere can have three meals a day for their bodies, education and culture for their minds, and dignity, equality, and freedom for their spirits.”
- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
As a community, Denison University commemorates Dr. King and the Civil Rights Movement—the legacy of discrimination that preceded it; the courage of those who stood up to attack it; the progress the nation achieved through it; and the unfinished pursuit of equal rights that continues to this day.
With films created mere years after his death as well as recent examinations of his enduring influence, this collection provides a fully realized portrait of Dr. King, his message of peaceful protest, and the state of the country.
