Information Literacy Faculty Toolkit: Request A Library Session

This toolkit provides you with the most valuable resources for integrating information literacy into your class curriculum.

Class Guides

Instead of a scheduled library session, you may prefer a customized course guide.  Contact your liaison librarian to create a specifically-tailored guide.

In addition, each program and department has its own discipline-specific subject guide.

Library Sessions

Please contact the appropriate librarian at least two weeks in advance to ensure the availability of a librarian, access to an instruction room, and prep time.

Please submit a copy of your syllabus/class schedule and assignment at the time of your request. Provide at least two date choices and choose time windows during your regular class or discussion section meeting times.  We will use that info to help schedule.

It's helpful to schedule a session in conjunction with a research assignment. Likewise, it's best if students have chosen their topics before the session.

Classrooms Available

The library is equipped to perform library sessions in a variety of settings.  Instruction sessions may be booked in the following areas of the library:

B01 E-Classroom

Located on the B level, the e-Classroom is a fully-networked and wireless-enabled computer lab with 18 desktop stations, an instructor's station, an LCD projector, and SmartBoard.

Library Viewing Room

Located on the A level, Room A25, the viewing room is equipped with a large-screen TV and instructor's station.

Other Spaces

In addition to these rooms, there are options in the library for using rooms not equipped with computers, such as group study rooms.

Outside of the Library

Other computer labs are available for booking on campus (subject to availability).  Librarians are also happy to come to your classroom for instruction sessions. Please consult with your librarian for details.
