One quick way to get a feel for a collection is to browse it. Click on the Browse button on the left to open up a list of all the volumes or issues in a collection.
If you want to focus your browsing, choose a volume or issue in the drop down menu and click on the Browse button to see everything inside a particular volume or issue.
To do a keyword search, enter your search term in the box on the left. You can choose to search for your term only in the current collection, all of Denison’s collections in the Digital Commons (choose “in this repository”) or in all the repositories of the Five Colleges or Ohio (choose “across all repositories”).
If you want to focus or narrow your search results, click on the Advanced Search link on the left under the Browse and Search boxes.
The Advanced Search menu will open to give you options to search particular fields, date ranges, and collections.
You also can sort your results by relevance or publication date.
The green plus sign to the right of the search term box allows you to add another field to search with additional terms.
You can then choose a Boolean term to search for both terms to be in a resource (and), one or the other term to be in a resource (or),or to exclude resources with the term (not).
