Citations give credit for ideas to the originator and allow the reader to track down the original sources of the information. Failure to cite ALL your sources constitutes plagiarism. Plagiarism is a problematic and controversial topic in the sciences, ask your professor when in doubt or check the links below for additional information.
RefWorks is a tool that allows you to manage and organize your citations and generate a bibliography. To create a RefWorks account, you'll just need to provide your Denison e-mail address and create a password. Once you've created an account, you can then go to RefWorks to get started. For the older (legacy) version of RefWorks, click here.
As of January 18, 2016, Flow users will automatically be upgraded to the new version of RefWorks, which combines the functionality of the legacy version of RefWorks with the Flow interface. There is a new login page, and Flow users will just need to replace their 'Save to Flow' bookmarklet with the new 'Save to RefWorks' one.
As of January 18, 2016, current RefWorks users will have the option of continuing with the legacy version or upgrading to the new one. For information on whether and how to upgrade, see this guide.
Please contact Roger Kosson with any questions about RefWorks or Flow.

Generally your professor will let you know which style to use. If your professor has no preference, choose a style yourself and be consistent, use the same style throughout your paper.
