The American Academy in Rome is one of the leading American overseas centers for independent studies and advanced research in the fine arts and humanities.

The American Classical League was founded in 1919 for the purpose of fostering the study of classical languages in the United States and Canada. Membership is open to any person who is committed to the preservation and advancement of our classical inheritance from Greece and Rome.

Founded in 1881, The American School of Classical Studies provides graduate students and scholars from affiliated North American college and universities a base for the advanced study of all aspects of Greek culture, from antiquity to the present day.

The American Schools of Oriental Research supports and encourages the study of the peoples and cultures of the Near East, from the earliest times to the present.

The AIA promotes a vivid and informed public interest in the cultures and civilizations of the past, supports archaeological research, fosters the sound professional practice of archaeology, advocates the preservation of the world’s archaeological heritage, and represents the discipline in the wider world.

CAMWS was founded at the University of Chicago in 1905 and incorporated in the State of Missouri on July 13, 1948. Its members are primarily college and university professors, K-12 teachers, and graduate students whose specialty is Classics: Classical languages (Greek and Latin) and the world of ancient Greece and Rome.

The Ohio Classical Conference has as its purpose the advertisement of classical language learning and the encouragement of classical studies in the state of Ohio at all educational levels, and the promotion of the common professional interests of its members.

Founded as the American Philological Association in 1869 by "professors, friends, and patrons of linguistic science," the SCS is the principal learned society in North America for the study of ancient Greek and Roman languages, literatures, and civilizations. While the majority of its members are university and college Classics teachers, members also include scholars in other disciplines, primary and secondary school teachers, and interested lay people.
